Hotels in Wrocław: prices, timing and areas
Wrocław spreads across islands and bridges on the Oder, with its heart in the huge Market Square with the town hall and on Ostrów Tumski with the cathedral. The city is famous for the dwarf statues scattered across its pavements, its student energy and the festivals that draw crowds in summer. Guests stay about three nights on average and most often look for a base in the Old Town, within a walk of the Market Square and Słodowa Island. This list has 2 091 properties, from a hostel bed to a five-star hotel by the Market Square. Below is what really drives the price of a stay in Wrocław: the month, the day of the week and the area.
When to book a stay in Wrocław for less
Wrocław is cheapest in early spring. March is usually the bottom of the market, about 27 percent below the yearly average, when the tourist season is only waking up. June is the priciest, at the height of a summer full of festivals and open-air events, when rates can run more than twice as high as in spring. The arrival day matters too: it is cheapest midweek, around Thursday, and most expensive on Sunday, at the end of the tourist weekend. The best rates show up about three months out, around 85 days before the date, so do not leave it to the last minute.
What a stay costs by property type
Wrocław has a wide spread of prices, so a hostel bed and a five-star room are worlds apart. The cheapest sleep is in hostels and two-star places; you pay the most for five stars by the Market Square. Below are indicative nightly rates.
| Property type | Indicative price per night (from) |
| Hostel bed or one-star place | from approx. PLN 80 |
| Two-star hotel | from approx. PLN 190 |
| Three-star hotel | from approx. PLN 380 |
| Family room | from approx. PLN 430 |
| Four-star hotel | from approx. PLN 480 |

Where a stay is cheaper and where it costs more
The most convenient and most chosen area is the Old Town around the Market Square, with the town hall, restaurants and Słodowa Island within a walk. Most hotels cluster here and this is where it is priciest, especially on a festival weekend. The cheaper sleep is further from the centre, towards Krzyki to the south and around the main station, from where a tram reaches the Market Square in a quarter of an hour. Ostrów Tumski and the Oder embankments are the most beautiful but pricier part of town. There are no hard per-district price lists, so this is a general picture, with the exact rate to check for your dates.
Which stay in Wrocław suits whom
- First time in Wrocław. The Old Town is the easiest base. From here it is a walk to the Market Square, the town hall and Ostrów Tumski, and you can count the dwarfs along the way.
- For families. Hotels with family rooms and apartments near the Market Square and Słodowa Island. Easy to mix sightseeing with a break by the Oder and the zoo with its Afrykarium.
- For couples. Intimate boutique hotels in the Old Town, where the evenings have the most restaurants and clubs. A short walk from there across the bridges over the Oder.
- With breakfast. Many hotels in the centre include breakfast in the rate, which helps you set off early for sightseeing. Handy with a tight day plan.
- Near the airport. Hotels around Nicolaus Copernicus Airport (WRO) suit an early flight or a layover. You reach the centre by bus or taxi in about half an hour.
